'Extra' good rankings in New You are able to, Chicago
'Extra' has seen a rankings spike among its key demographic in NY and Chicago, but is lower in L.A., where it is affected with weak lead-inches.Warner Bros.' lengthy-running entertainment magazine, "Extra," seems to become getting an additional-good season.Extra expires 42% one of the show's key demographic, women 25-54, on WNBC NY at 7:30 p.m., during Chicago it's enhanced 63% for the reason that same demo. In homes, "Extra" expires 15% year upon year across all its metered marketplaces, second simply to CBS Television Distribution's "Entertainment Tonight," that has elevated 17% year upon year. More often than not, a syndicated show's improvement could be credited to a number of factors, including time-period upgrades, better lead-inches and from time to time better content, although that last factor is subjective, and difficult to measure. But "Extra" continues to be playing up its NY coverage, delivering anchors Mario Lopez and Maria Menounos to Manhattan every month to host. It's also hired Gotham icon Jesse Trump to frequently co-host the show with regular NY-based correspondent A.J. Calloway, which season the show has damaged tales about noted NYers Rosie O'Donnell's new girlfriend contributing to Alec Baldwin's potential run for mayor."Extra's" gains in Chicago go submit hands using the move of Warner Bros.' "Ellen" to three p.m. on NBC's WMAQ. "Ellen" expires 50% in the new period of time, which appears to become aiding both "Extra" at 4 p.m. and also the station's local news at 5 p.m. The main one major market where "Extra" is not faring so well is on KNBC La, in which the show has dropped 38% among women 25-54, although it's up 13% in homes for the reason that market."Extra" is La-based, so it ought to be attractive to La audiences however, the implies that lead directly into "Extra" -- "We the folks With Gloria Allred" at 2 p.m., "Nate Berkus" at 3 p.m., "Ellen" at 4 p.m., the neighborhood news at 5 and 6 p.m., and also the "NBC Nightly News" at 6:30 p.m., have lost audiences within the L.A. market this year, which makes it no surprise that "Extra" is following suit. George Clooney's Problem (Do Not Possess A Pity Party for Him!)
This story first came out inside the November. 4 problem in the Hollywood Reporter.our editor recommendsGeorge Clooney Is Only Able To Be Out-Pranked By Kaira Pitt States DamonNY Film Festival: George Clooney Hits 'The Descendants' Premiere With Stacy KeiblerGeorge Clooney States He'll not Run For Office (Video)Dems versus. Republicans: Stars they Wont Pay to find out Movies They Hate and Love (Poll) George Clooney could possibly get to get lots of time inside the shower through the approaching several days. Oscar campaigning makes him "type of feel unclean," he bellyached a few several days back. Or was that merely a mock complaint? With Clooney, a substantial guy (witness his campaign against genocide in Sudan) which has perfected the knack of never seeming to think about themselves too seriously, you will not ever define. However, if it calls for juggling competing honours campaigns, Clooney is on familiar ground. Six in the past, he'd two politically designed films in play: Syriana (through which he starred) and Evening, and All The Best (they co-written, directed and socialized in). He handled to separate his marketing efforts involving the two, without slighting either. PHOTOS: George Clooney: Career in Pictures The finish result will be a combined eight Academy nominations for your two movies, with Clooney acquiring mentions for pointing and co-writing Evening and taking home the supporting actor Oscar for his worn-lower CIA agent in Syriana. This year, it's under deja vu once more. Nevertheless the pattern can be compared. Clooney has one movie, the backroom political drama The Ides of March, he co-written, directed and produced too as with they features a supporting role just like a governor with presidential aspirations. Which he's another, author-director Alexander Payne's The Descendants, through which Clooney stars just like a guy fighting to keep both his immediate and relatives from spinning uncontrollable. PHOTOS: The Scene within the Venice Film Festival Getting two films up for consideration can present problems. A year ago, Leonardo DiCaprio, a much more reticent public personality than Clooney, tried to voice equal support for Shutter Island and Beginning. But instead of being named best actor for either, he was famous for neither. Clooney doesn't face that predicament, though. The groups through which he'll contend are clearly delineated. In Descendants, he's within the forefront. In Ides, he's delivering support to Ryan Gosling's political operative -- really, Clooney's character didn't even are available in happens experience the movie relies. States among Clooney's affiliate marketers, "The Two movies are two different canvasses." In addition, The brand new the new sony, which opened up up Ides on March. 7, and Fox Searchlight, which will begin to unveil Descendants on November. 18, are actually playing nice round the festival circuit: Ides opened up in Venice Telluride got Descendants both movies examined on successive nights in Toronto and London and Descendants was congratulated since the closing-nightfeature within the NY Film Festival. Clooney designated the initial phase of his honours bid by accepting Actor of year honorsfor Descendants within the Hollywood Film Honours on March. 24. Will both movies go the space? At this time, Descendants, which acquired three Gotham noms, looks being building momentum. Ides, which designed a decent $24 million through its initial few weekends of release, is among several high-profile nominees The brand new the new sony will area, but Descendants is shaping as bank card inside the pack of Searchlight's honours hopefuls. Fox's niche unit expects to transmit about 30,000 screeners for the industry's honours groups. But even if Clooney doesn't ultimately get writing or pointing Oscar noms for Ides -- which he faces stiff competition in people groups -- the fact the opportunity continues to be spoken about adds to his gravitas, strengthening his bid for Descendants. It's just like what rocket scientists call the slingshot effect: Send a spacecraft around the quick loop around a distant planet, as well as the planet's gravitational pressure will hurl the spacecraft farther into space. Voters amazed by Clooney's performance in Descendants might be even a lot more when reminded of his work behind the digital camera in Ides. Rather than getting rid of each other out, the flicks could comparable to a powerful one-two punch, with Clooney showing itself to become the most effective actor victor. Martin Scorsese in Early Talks to Direct 'The Snowman'
When it comes to Martin Scorsese and his future directing projects, the acclaimed director seems to take a page from Lay's potato chips: he can't have just one. Variety reports that the Oscar-winning Scorsese is in early talks to direct 'The Snowman,' an adaptation of Norwegian novelist Jo Nesbo's acclaimed novel. Great! But maybe 'The Snowman' should take a number. Over the last couple of years, Scorsese has seen his name attached to a host of major projects: a remake of 'The Gambler' with Leonardo DiCaprio; an adaptation of 'The Wolf of Wall Street' with Leonardo DiCaprio; a biopic about Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, perhaps with Leonardo DiCaprio; 'The Irishman,' with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino; 'Silence,' a film about Jesuit monks in 17th century Japan with Daniel Day-Lewis and Benicio Del Toro; and 'Furious Love,' about the romance between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Which is to say: don't be surprised if Scorsese's involvement with 'The Snowman' melts away after a few years. Based on Nesbo's Harry Hole series, 'The Snowman' is set in Norway and focuses on a serial killer who attacks women. Working Title -- the production company behind 'Love Actually' and the upcoming 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' -- hopes that the film could have franchise potential, a la 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.' The Nesbo books have sold 5 million copies worldwide. Scorsese will next direct 'Hugo,' out on Nov. 23. [via Variety] [Photo: Getty] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook RELATED

Rob Zombie adds one of The Brady Bunch to Lords Of Salem
Rob Zombie's upcomingThe Lords of Salem has a growing all-star cast, which already includes the likes of Barbara Crampton, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Bruce Davidson, Sheri Moon Zombie, Billy Drago and Meg Foster. But it seems that Mr Zombie is gratifying his nostalgic side by adding yet another familiar face to the bill."Pork chops and applesauce head to Salem! What the fuck does that mean? Of course it means Christopher Knight has joined our group.""Chris plays Keith Williams aka Lobster Joe the host of Lobster Joe's Fishy Fun Show a staple of local Salem television."Christopher Knight'smost recognisable role is Peter Brady from the infamous The Brady Bunch. Yep, that Brady Bunch. Now, we know that Zombie is a pop-culture fiend, but we kind of assumed his tastes were a little more, well, fiendish.Having said that, the thought of a young Zombie singing along to the Brady Bunch theme tune every Friday night fills us with quite a lot of giddy joy.The Lords of Salem is about a DJ who accidentally unleashes an evil curse onto the titular town, which was famously the site of several witchcraft trials in the 17th Century. The Lords of Salemwill be released in 2012. And we're sure it'll be as relentlessly bleak as Zombie's previous flicks, even if it does now involve a Brady.

Zombieland to become TV series?
"Zombieland is introduced for you personally before an energetic studio audience." We're really wanting that is not how a TV series starts, with Pals-style laughter polluting the black humour, but apparently Zombieland is headed for the small screen.A follow-up for the 2009 hit comedy has elevated the works well with sometime now but even director Ruben Fleischer recently mentioned he doesn't think it will happen. While using season two TV premiere in the Walking Dead breaking records now, it seems someone has put two and a pair of together making four. By four we mean a Zombieland TV series.Early word is always that Fox TV has something a great deal a lot more like a sitcom in your thoughts. Sounds to us such as this particular two plus two can make five. The first movie's writing duo of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are taking part while using project plus it appears like they could be pretty busy. The GI Joe 2 and Deadpool authors will also be hired by Hasbro to pen the toy company's Micronauts movie.Micronauts will probably be created by Qq Abrams's Bad Robot production company and you'll be good Japanese toys - first released as Microman in 1974 - as well as the 1979 comic-book series.

It Shoulda Been You
Richard Kline, Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris and Howard McGillin are dueling in-laws in new tuner It Shoulda Been You.
A George Street Playhouse presentation of a musical in two acts with music and concept by Barbara Anselmi; lyrics and book by Brian Hargrove; additional lyrics by Jill Abramovitz, Carla Rose Fisher, Michael Cooper, Ernie Lijoi, Will Randall. Direction by David Hyde Pierce; choreography by Noah Racey. Music direction by Greg Anthony.Jenny Steinberg - Lisa Howard

Annie Sheps - Carla Duren
Albert - Edward Hibbert
Georgette Howard - Harriet Harris
George Howard - Howard McGillin
Marty Kaufman - David JosefsbergBroadway comes to New Brunswick with the new musical comedy "It Shoulda Been You." The cast -- headed by Tyne Daly and Harriet Harris, with the likes of Howard McGillin and Edward Hibbert in support -- is impressive. Design team consists of top-level names Anna Louizos, William Ivey Long and Ken Billington. David Hyde Pierce makes what seems to be his directing debut, and producers Scott Landis, Michael Hanel and Daryl Roth are attached. With all this, "It Shoulda Been You" shoulda been good. The score is weak, though, and the book would have been a scream back in 1965. What we have here is "Abie's Irish Rose" all over again. The fact that few people remember that long-running hit indicates just how past-dated "It Shoulda Been You" is; later sitcom models include "The Mothers-in-Law" and "Bridget Loves Bernie." Jewish girl weds Catholic boy, with the cliche-Jewish mama (Daly) pitted against the tippling WASP mother (Harris); they even reprise those "Abie" jokes about the rabbi and the priest. This is "Love Boat" territory, all in all; but is there still an audience for "The Love Boat"? The authors eventually make things more contemporary, but one twist at the first act curtain and a rapid-and-funny final twenty minutes aren't enough. Music comes from Barbara Anselmi, who also takes credit for the concept. The book is by TV-scribe Brian Hargrove; he also writes half the lyrics, with the rest coming from a committee of five receiving title-page credit. (That's a lot of writers for gems like "It shoulda been you, at least you're a Jew.") There are a very few reasonably effective songs along the way, but we have to wait until the final number for a good one, a quartet for the parents called "That's Family." The actors go all out to make things enjoyable; each and every one of the 13 brightens the stage. Daly breezes through her role as the Jewish mother to end all Jewish mothers, although people who saw her in last season's "Master Class" know that she is capable of far more. Harris makes a perfect foil, and is wildly funny; so are McGillin and Richard Kline as the two husbands. Leading the pack and carrying the show is the little-known Lisa Howard -- a Drama Desk Award-winner for "The 25th Annual Putnam Valley Spelling Bee" -- as sister of the bride. When she sings a song, it gets sung. Hyde Pierce has his actors deliver the jokes effectively and has a knack for farcical staging, while choreographer Noah Racey makes do with his few opportunities. Let it be noted that the George Street subscribers seem to be eating it up. The five-week run is a virtual sellout, but then they are getting Broadway stars and production values for low prices without making the hourlong drive into town and paying for parking. "It Shoulda Been You" should do fine with upper middle-class Jewish seniors -- there were convulsive shrieks all four times the bridegroom offered mangled Yiddish ("keena ahora") -- but this is a shrinking demographic. How does such a slight entertainment as "It Shoulda Been You" get a gilt-edged, first-class mounting at a small regional like George Street? One guesses that Hyde Pierce, husband of lyricist/librettist Hargrove, pulled strings and called friends. The cast seems to be having a grand time, at least, and their clowning more than compensates for the weary writing.Set, Anna Louizos; costumes, William Ivey Long; lighting, Ken Billington; sound, Acme Sound Partners; orchestrations, Doug Besterman; production stage manager, Thomas Clewell. Webheads don't know much history
Watching Fox go through negotiations to ultimately renew "The Simpsons" through a 25th season -- while sibling Fox News Channel engages in chest-thumping over its 15th anniversary -- represents two sides of an increasingly common modern media scenario.Faced with a choice between looking ahead or honoring history, tradition is almost invariably dismissed as the title of a song from "Fiddler on the Roof," with the occasional exception.Think about ABC execs deciding to jettison the network's decades-old daytime soaps "All My Children" and "One Life to Live," opting to pursue cheaper talk alternatives. NBC did much the same by ending "Law & Order" just short of breaking the endurance record for drama series held by "Gunsmoke" -- a milestone that meant something to producer Dick Wolf but not so much to the network's then-management, a half-dozen regimes removed from the program's inception. In the midst of Fox's contract talks with "The Simpsons" cast, a source echoed this point by saying of the entertainment division's current brass, "What's 'The Simpsons' mean to them? It's not like they developed it."Such scenarios admittedly set up a tough situation for executives. They can't be shackled by the past -- especially given how fast the business is changing -- and usually derive less credit from shepherding someone else's development than launching franchises of their own.Yet a more subtle aspect of this has to do with the over-arching preference for the new. Because everything in media dictates younger is good -- starting with demographic pressure across all ad-supported channels -- the corollary is that older, or anything smacking of it, must be bad.Execs have thus been programmed not to get emotionally invested in history. Besides, few of them have much longevity in their present jobs, making it hard to get agitated about programs that have run decades -- or their vocal fans -- when tenures in top media posts are so frequently measured in annual increments of two and three.By contrast, it's probably not an accident some of the more successful orgs boast greater stability than competitors.Underlying Fox News' triumphant end zone dance -- which even included making some of its normally press-shy anchors available to (gasp) the mainstream media -- is Roger Ailes commemorating his storied run, having transformed his Clinton-era creation into the dominant force in conservative politics. And like many powerful media figures, the Fox News CEO can't resist a bit of gloating -- and appears to possess a vivid memory of anyone who ever slighted or second-guessed him along the way.As for the broadcast networks, it's no accident CBS remains a model of efficiency in primetime. Easily the most stable network operation, the company isn't hidebound by tradition but does possess a strong sense of it.Moreover, thanks to the conspicuous lack of turnover under CEO Leslie Moonves, the company not only retains a sense of its past but actually has kept a team in place long enough to claim a significant slice of the network's history as its own. (CBS News helps illustrate this point as well, if only by juxtaposing "60 Minutes'" legendary durability with the repeated fits and starts that have characterized other aspects of the division.)It would be simplistic to say consistency alone is a hallmark of success, and it's easy to see the negative consequences of hanging around too long, having witnessed execs and programs fade the way an aging ballplayer loses his fastball or first step. There's also a specific rationale behind questioning the viability of long-running TV shows, which -- thanks to hefty raises generated through earlier renewals -- often cost far more to produce than new programs would.Despite the logic in adapting to changing circumstances, however, it's almost always short-sighted to be arbitrary or insensitive when severing tiesto habit and history, or allow the lack of a personal stake to result in blithely discarding tradition. Oscar Index: Extremely Artist and Incredibly Horse
It’s week three of the 2011-12 Oscar Index, and the latest measurements, readings and conclusions are in from Movieline’s Institute for the Advanced Study of Kudos Forensics. And aside from a few startling exceptions, they don’t look that different than the ones disseminated here last week. But make no mistake: Like it or not, stuff is happening! Read on for the latest developments. [Click the graphs for full-size images.] The Leading 10: 1. War Horse 2. The Artist 3. The Descendants 4. Moneyball 5. The Ides of March 6. J. Edgar 7. The Help 8. Midnight in Paris 9. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close 10. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Outsiders: The Tree of Life, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Iron Lady So last week, I finished up Oscar Index and then walked up to my local watering hole, where I proceeded, as usual, to ruthlessly drown the floating heads and other nightmarish visions that invade my consciousness in the feature’s immediate aftermath. And one of my friends, a pretty serious cinephile, says, “Yeah, I saw Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.” “Say whaaaa?”, I said. “I saw Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” this friend repeated, explaining having attended a test screening here in NY over the preceding weekend. Pretty much everything this friend proceeded to tell me wound up corroborating another report from the same screening: Specifically, that Stephen Daldry’s adaptation of the Jonathan Safran Foer bestseller about a newly fatherless boy’s post-9/11 experience is really sad and affecting and looooong and contains Oscar-caliber work from Sandra Bullock and Max von Sydow. “Von Sydow?”, I said. “Say whaaaa?” More on the actors in a bit, but the bottom line is that with a few judicious trims, early word from actual viewers and our first glimpse at the film’s trailer suggests that Extremely Loud will supply the spirited emo boost Paramount is looking for in this year’s Oscar race. Which only affirms the suspicions of many Oscar-watchers who’ve long presumed the Scott Rudin production was the snake in the shimmering gold awards-season grass. Some sniffed at the trailer in particular as persuasive but inconclusive evidence of Oscar-worthiness, but come on. One look at the new War Horse trailer proves that if studio marketing drips like Oscar bait and smells like Oscar bait, then it’s Oscar bait. And with the Rudin/Daldry/Tom Hanks trinity at its core (to say nothing of Bullock and von Sydow and young X-factor Thomas Horn), you won’t likely go broke betting on it to at least make the Best Picture cut. Nevertheless, don’t think that anything yet comes close to matching War Horse’s profile. Surprisingly or not (mostly not), the nearest may now be The Artist, Michel Hazanavicius’s silent, audience-pleasing tribute to vintage Hollywood. As foreseen last week, master awards-pizzaiolo Harvey Weinstein is crafting one of his finest pies to date, with zesty punditry from Sasha Stone and Nathaniel Rogers among others boosting the Oscar flavor. Moreover, check out Harvey’s toppings at the moment, including the mogul’s own exhorting of Ides of March — which is shaping up for a middling critical and commercial response this weekend — as the film to beat in this year’s race. Genius! Nothing like foisting high expectations on a movie that won’t deliver them. That’s not to say that Harvey didn’t like it! But it’s a delicious insight into what he thinks his real competition is, at least in this early stage. Moneyball, meanwhile, could use that kind of seasoning: Last week’s reported Academy goodwill has deteriorated into guys like Scott Feinberg presenting this kind of statistic as encouraging news: “Moneyball, which opened at #2 at the box-office last weekend with nearly $20 million in sales, earned 43% less this Friday than it did last Friday, only a 3% worse drop-off than the one experienced by The Social Network last year.” Uh, what? Then there are the doubts as to whether or not the Academy will really go for a baseball movie, or the proposal that it could advance on the strength of guild-awards recognition, and it all just seems kind of… bleak. Unlike its subject, Moneyball will need more than hard numbers to get by the competition this fall. It needs longevity, visibility and some considerable luck. Maybe it can start with Harvey Weinstein not suggesting it will go all the way. The Leading 5: 1. Steven Spielberg, War Horse 2. Alexander Payne, The Descendants 3. Michel Hazanavicius, The Artist 4. Clint Eastwood, J. Edgar 5. Stephen Daldry, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close Outsiders: David Fincher, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo; George Clooney, The Ides of March; Bennett Miller, Moneyball; Woody Allen, Midnight in Paris; Tomas Alfredson, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy; Tate Taylor, The Help; David Cronenberg, A Dangerous Method On the basis of their films’ Index boosts alone, Hazanavicius and Daldry were the week’s big directing beneficiaries, while Clooney is like, “Harvey, for Christ’s sake, stop it, already.” Relax, George! You’ve still got The Descendants, for which Payne remains a consistent darling in this category and for which you are a front runner for acting. Don’t get greedy!

CBS rode a strong week behind "Two and a Half Men," above, and top-rated drama "NCIS." Nielsen ratings chart, page 14.
Riding TV's top-rated drama ("NCIS") and comedy ("Two and a Half Men"), CBS cruised to victory in key demos for the second week of the season. The Eye got good production out of most of its newbies and claimed six of the week's top 10 programs in adults 18-49 -- the most for any network in Week 2 since NBC in 2003. Fox too had another good week, and its new shows are holding up best relative to their premieres.Through two weeks, CBS and Fox were neck and neck among adults 18-49, with the Eye roughly on par with last year and Fox -- aided mostly by "The X Factor" -- up by about 15%. ABC and NBC are in a tight battle for third, with the Alphabet off slightly vs. last year and the Peacock down about 10%.CBS is the clear leader in adults 25-54 and total viewers. Most impressive newcomers after multiple airings are Fox's "New Girl" and CBS' "2 Broke Girls." ABC's "Revenge" and "Pan Am" held up well enough in their second outings to suggest they could be around a while, as did CBS dramas "Person of Interest" and "Unforgettable." And NBC has something of a spark on Wednesday with "Up All Night."Peacock has already pulled the plug on "The Playboy Club," while others not looking so hot are ABC's "Charlie's Angels" and NBC's "Free Agents" and "Prime Suspect." Looking at the Nielsens for the Sept. 26-Oct. 2 frame, CBS led in adults 18-49 with a 3.2 rating/9 share, with Fox a solid second (2.8/8) and NBC (2.4/7) and ABC (2.4/6) tied for third. The Eye won by 3 shares over Fox in adults 25-54 and ran away in total viewers (12.2 million to 8.7 million for ABC).For CBS, the Ashton Kutcher-led "Two and a Half Men" held up well in its second week (7.4/17 in 18-49, 20.52m) -- the frame's No. 1 show in 25-54 (8.7/18) and total viewers -- and still looked strong in its third try. TV's No. 1 comedy block included "How I Met Your Mother" (4.5/12, 10.50m), the timeslot debut of "2 Broke Girls" (4.6/12, 11.75m) and the season opener of "Mike & Molly" (4.8/11, 13.86m)."Hawaii Five-0" (3.2/8, 11.26m) topped its drama competish in demos too, as the Eye won the 10:30 p.m. half-hour leading into the late local news on all five weeknights in adults 25-54.In their second weeks, rookies "Unforgettable" (2.5/7, 12.43m), "Person of Interest" (2.7/7, 12.51m) and "A Gifted Man" (1.2/4, 8.18m) dropped off in the standard 10%-15% range. But one newbie, Thursday half-hour "How to Be a Gentleman" (2.7/8, 8.98m), could be in danger after its preem last week lost a big chunk of its lead-in from "The Big Bang Theory" (4.9/15, 14.74m)."NCIS" was the week's No. 1 drama (4.2/12, 19.51m), beating Fox's "Glee" head-to-head by 2 shares in 18-49. Excluding sports, CBS claimed six of the top eight programs among adults 18-49 and seven of eight in 25-54.Fox has seen impressive second-week holds for its newbies, including "New Girl" (4.5/11, 9.28m), down just 7%. The laffer built on its lead-in from a declining but still potent "Glee" (3.7/10, 8.60m) and stood as Tuesday's No. 1 show in 18-49."X Factor," also down 7% week to week, won its two-hour blocks on Wednesday (4.1/11, 11.86m) and Thursday (5.7/15, 13.45m), losing in 18-49 only to "Modern Family" and "Big Bang Theory." And "Terra Nova" opened with solid but unspectacular numbers (3.1/8, 9.22m) however earned points by holding up well in its second outing.ABC had only three of the top 25 shows in 18-49, with "Modern Family" (5.7/15, 13.45m) up vs. last year while vets "Grey's Anatomy" (3.6/9, 10.20m) and "Dancing With the Stars" (3.3/8, 16.23m) were down.Among rookies, "Charlie's Angels" looks to be in trouble (1.5/4, 7.11m), but "Revenge" (2.7/7, 8.54m) and "Pan Am" (2.6/6, 7.76m) are faring better. And in its debut, Wednesday comedy "Suburgatory" (3.3/9, 9.81m) built on its lead-in from "The Middle" (2.7/8, 8.68m).NBC was again saved by "Sunday Night Football" (7.7/19, 18.90m for Jets-Ravens), the week's No. 1 show in 18-49. Its only otheronly other top-25 show was "The Office" (3.5/9, 6.70m), while the Thursday comedy's 9:30 p.m. leadout "Whitney" (2.5/6, 5.40m) dropped off in its second week but still looked OK. Second-year Wednesday drama "Harry's Law" (1.2/3, 7.63m) was the net's most-watched entertainment series, but is a demo laggard following the even lower-rated new half-hour "Free Agents" (1.0/3, 3.07m). Leading into "Free" was the new "Up All Night" (2.1/6, 5.32m), which dropped 13% week to week but is still a bright spot.Univision was fifth in 18-49 (1.7/5), winning Friday for the fifth straight week. And CW continues to show sizable declines even though newcomers "Hart of Dixie" (0.8/2, 1.88m in its preem) and "Ringer" (0.9/2, 1.98m in its third week) built on their lead-ins, and Thursday's "The Secret Circle" (1.0/2, 2.12m) is a good fit with "The Vampire Diaries" (1.3/4, 2.74m). On Monday of this week, CBS rolled as "Two and a Half Men" (6.2/14, 17.71m) declined by 16% but is still likely to be the No. 1 entertainment series of the week in demos. And "2 Broke Girls" (4.5/11, 11.42m) matched its "How I Met Your Mother" demo lead-in (4.5/12, 10.39m). At Fox, "Terra Nova" (3.1/8, 8.73m) retained its week-ago demo aud, and "House" kicked off its eighth season in a new 9 o'clock timeslot (3.9/9, 9.78m), down just 7% from last year.ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" (3.1/7, 16.56m) declined further, while NBC's "The Sing Off" was up a tick (1.8/4, 4.89m).On the sports side, ESPN's "Monday Night Football" (4.5/11 in 18-49, 10.84m for Colts-Buccaneers) topped TBS' baseball playoff game between the Tigers and Yankees (2.1/5, 6.05m).
